Description
This silver filigree teapot is a showpiece rather than an everyday kettle. Nepali artisans have shaped it in sterling silver, added gold-plated copper accents and set it with turquoise, coral and lapis lazuli, finishing it with a handle in the form of a dragon.

About Nepali filigree work
Filigree is a metalwork technique in which fine threads of silver are twisted and soldered into patterns. Combined with stone inlay, it creates the intricate, jewel-like surface seen on this piece. It is offered as an original, rare piece.
The dragon appears often in Himalayan art, where it traditionally stands for wisdom, long life and good fortune. Here it turns a functional object into a centrepiece with a story.

Care
Silver tarnishes naturally over time. Polish the metal gently with a soft silver cloth, working around the stones rather than over them. Keep turquoise, coral and lapis dry and away from chemicals, and avoid dishwashers or soaking.
