This Tibetan brass kettle reflects the role colour plays in Tibetan art, where hues carry symbolic meaning. Handmade in Nepal, it features carved animals on the spout and handle and a body inlaid with matte turquoise, coral and lapis-coloured stones.

About the design
In Tibetan Buddhist art, colours are associated with different paths to wisdom, and animal motifs are common protective symbols. The carvings on this kettle are executed by hand, so small details vary between pieces.
The gemstones are lab-created rather than mined, which gives the kettle its bright, consistent colours. It is offered as a decorative, collectable showpiece.
Displaying it

Care
