About filigree work
Filigree is one of Nepal’s traditional metal crafts. Thin threads of metal are twisted, shaped and soldered into delicate patterns, and stones are then set by hand into the design. The result is a surface full of texture and colour.
The combination of turquoise, ruby, emerald and lapis echoes the bright palette of Himalayan art. The pot is offered as an original, rare piece.
Displaying it
Give it a place where light can reach the stones: a glass cabinet, a console table or a bookshelf at eye level. It also makes a striking gift for a collector. Read our guide to handcrafted Nepali decor for care advice.
It looks especially rich when grouped with other metal pieces in warm tones.
Care
Dust it with a soft brush, working gently around the filigree. Keep the pot dry and away from chemical cleaners, which can damage both the metal and the stones.
