Description
This Makalu yellow tourmaline bracelet carries a piece of one of the world’s highest mountain ranges. Its 16 beads, each 14mm across, were cut from crystal mined at Gunihang in Sankhuwasabha, eastern Nepal, in the shadow of Makalu, the fifth-highest peak on earth.

About the crystal
The beads are quartz that grew together with yellow tourmaline and other minerals, which gives them streaks and patches of honey, straw and earthy brown. No two beads are the same, and the patterns are part of the appeal.
The Gunihang mine sits above 14,000 feet, and crystal from this area is collected in small quantities.
