This Himalayan quartz cluster is a true statement piece. At over a kilo and 20cm across, it was mined in the Makalu range of eastern Nepal, home to one of the highest mountains on earth, and it shows the bright, glassy points that Himalayan quartz is known for.

About Makalu quartz
Clear quartz, sometimes called rock crystal, is made of silicon and oxygen and has a glassy, vitreous lustre. Clusters form when many points grow together from a shared base. Every cluster has a unique arrangement of points, and many contain natural veils or inclusions inside.
In crystal traditions clear quartz is linked with clarity, focus and intention, and it is a popular centrepiece for meditation spaces. These associations come from spiritual practice and belief.

Care
Dust between the points with a soft, dry brush. Avoid harsh chemicals, and always lift the cluster from its base rather than the points, which can chip.
