About the endless knot
The endless knot, or shrivatsa, is one of the eight auspicious symbols of Tibetan Buddhism. Its interlaced lines stand for the connection of all things and the union of wisdom and compassion.
Ringing the bowl can mark the start of meditation, prayer or a quiet pause. It is a mindful practice, not a medical treatment.
Playing it
With its cushion, the bowl can be played on a table or the floor. Strike once and listen, or circle the rim for a continuous tone. Our singing bowl playing guide walks you through it.
Care
Dust the bowl with a soft cloth and keep the silk cushion away from moisture.
