About the vajra
In Tibetan and Himalayan tradition, the vajra stands for indestructibility, clarity and spiritual strength, and it is used in meditation and ritual. Here it gives the bowl symbolic meaning as well as decoration.
Like every hand-hammered bowl, this one has its own exact weight and tone. It is used in meditation and yoga as a focus for attention, not as medical treatment.
How to play
Strike the outer wall softly, then run the striker around the rim at a steady pace until the bowl sings. A slightly shallow bowl like this responds quickly, which makes it beginner-friendly. Our how-to guide for Himalayan bowls explains more.
If you prefer a golden finish, our golden vajra bowl offers a similar symbol in a brighter tone.
Care
Wipe it with a dry cloth after use and store it in a dry place. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could dull the brass.
