About pyrite
Pyrite is an iron sulphide mineral, nicknamed “fool’s gold” for its resemblance to the precious metal. Raw pieces can show small cubes, flat mirror-like faces or a granular texture, and the shine ranges from pale brass to rich gold. On a shelf it pairs well with other natural stones such as raw citrine or clear quartz.
In crystal traditions pyrite is associated with abundance, prosperity and drive, which is why many people keep a piece near where they work or manage money. This symbolism is belief, not a promise of results.
Where to place it
A palm-sized stone like this suits an office desk, a cash counter, a study table or a crystal display. It also makes a thoughtful gift for a new business. For ideas on other natural stones, read our guide to the top raw crystals in the UAE.
Keep it dry
Pyrite reacts with moisture and can tarnish or develop rust-coloured spots if it gets damp. Keep it away from bathrooms, plant pots and water, and dust it with a soft dry brush. Never cleanse it in water.
